Lazy Sunday afternoon

There are few times in the week that we can reflect and just relax. We work throughout the week and for many people Friday and Saturday nights are for partying. Sunday afternoons have a special place.

Today after a busy week and some evening events I have taken the opportunity to do a bit of baking before curling up in a comfy chair with a cup of tea and a book. Digger the rabbit and Albert the gerbil were both snoozing. It was a lovely moment.

There is always so much to do with work and never ending chores. We could occupy ourselves 24 hours a day and still have stuff left on our to do list. Within this we have to find space to give ourselves a little ‘me time’.

I have blogged before about the importance of mindfulness and meditation as well as sleep to help us recharge our batteries. Just doing nothing can be one of the most joyous things. It can also be incredibly productive if we allow our minds to recover ready for the week ahead.

If you haven’t had some time to relax this weekend why not switch off tonight. Put down the phone or the computer, close down the social media sites and give yourself some peaceful time. On that note I am going to get back to my book and hope you all had a good weekend.

Fantastic post! Mindfulness is so important and it’s something i strive to include into my every day life, whether its first thing in the morning with my cup of tea just staring out at the sky and the colour of the leaves or last thing at night counting my blessings and listening to the rain on my window,

My new post is here 💞
