A Decade in Blogs

Next week marks my 10th anniversary of this Amandacomms blog. When I started it on 15 July 2010 I could never have imagined where I would be today, or that I would still be blogging. So to mark this moment I am planning a series of celebratory and reflective blogs.

I want to celebrate because heck we haven’t had a lot to celebrate in the past few months have we? And I want to reflect because in 2010 the world looked very different to the way it looks today.

In recent weeks I have asked for some inspiration about how I should celebrate getting to a decade in blogs and I am grateful to everyone who came up with ideas. I was particularly delighted that Stephen Waddington suggested cake. I am going to take care of that with some little vegan treats which hopefully will be delivered this weekend.

  1. What I learnt from 10 years blogging? a blog that I will publish on the 10th anniversary which is 15 July.
  2. Sharing my top 10 blog posts from the 10 years.
  3. Revisiting the comments and views from the first few blogs to see what, if anything, has changed.
  4. Considering the future of the Amandacomms blog.
  5. Reflections on what has changed in communication since 2010

Finally, I am going to ask you to get involved. I would love you to reflect on one of the blogs over the past 10 years that you enjoyed and say why, or if you really want to you could blog or provide a guest blog about it. For the best post or comment I am going to giveaway a copy of my book Crisis Communication Strategies (did I mention I have written a book? 🙂 )

The past 10 years of blogging would not have been anywhere near as much fun without the support of everyone who reads, posts, or comments on my blogs. I started it really to prove something to myself and it has become more than I could have ever imagined.

Thank you for being part of the past 10 years of Amandacomms and I hope you will keep reading for the next 10 (possibly!) years.
