Reflections on another busy week

This has been another week of ups and downs, good and bad, positive and negative. It has been testing and enjoyable in equal measure but thankfully I have made it to the weekend.

My week started with a trip to the police press officers training course to discuss social media. It was an opportunity to catch up with some old friends who as always are there for me as part of my support network when I need it. Having a friendly face to greet you or a message of support arrive among your texts is such a massive boost.

The discussion on social media was chance to reflect on eight years work and what it has achieved. The world of communication has changed beyond recognition since 2010. We have huge opportunities and can make a big difference to communities if we use the digital developments in the right way.

Back into the day job and challenging staffing levels meant I was back writing press releases and answering media calls. It is good to know that I can still do it although it is not the best use of my time. I had a little office helper yesterday that brought some smiles to the team.

On a personal note I was delighted that a bunny picture I did was warmly received by the owners. They had paid money to a bunny rescue charity for the sketch so I felt a lot of pressure in completing it.

I had some wonderful time with my animal companions. I was able to get back on to riding Edward after some treatment from the vet. There were also plenty of lovely photographs of my rabbit Digger and gerbil Albert. On top of all that I kept up with #blogtober.

Have a good weekend everyone.
