It is that time of year again when the nights start to draw in and winter feels like it is just round the corner. This brings positives and negatives depending on your point of view and approach to life.
There is something satisfying to be able to shut the world out and cosy up indoors away from the worst of the autumn and winter nights. Dark nights also allow time to do more reading, writing or for other hobbies.
But there are many people who start to suffer from seasonal affected disorder and feel down and lethargic. There are others who feel an increased sense of isolation because of the extended nights. And of course the need for more heat and light can add to the financial burden of many.
At the heart of this is how you view things which will bring pain or positivity. Our mindset is what matters. We can tell ourselves into a dark winter mood without seeing the beauty in the autumn leaves and the joy of a crisp winter evening.
There is so much to be grateful for and the seasons will come and go regardless.
