Alternative advent calendar

I have been following the alternative advent calendar produced by Action For Happiness. It is a kindness calendar full of daily suggestions of how to show gratitude and help others. It can be found on their website and is well worth checking out.

Today it was about saying thank you to those people who help you but you may take for granted. So I am going to use today’s blog to put this situation right.

First I have to thank my Mum and Dad who have always believed in me and supported me whatever I wanted to do. They gave me so much and are still doing that today. I am very blessed and owe them so much.

Then I have to thank my long suffering partner who has been with me for 30 years. We have helped each other through the rollercoaster of life. We may not be the most romantic couple but we are always there for each other.

I have to thank a number of friends who have been a tower of strength to me now and in the past. Sue Fox you are an incredible person. We have known each other for so long and you have guided me in my formative PR years. Ella Minty we have only known each other for a year or so but I know if I ever need a friendly word you will always be there and that means so much.

My friend Rachel Edwards helps me so much looking after my beautiful horse so I can do what I need to at work. I am so grateful for the support and am privileged that she is my friend.

Finally I have to thank all the team who have supported and accepted me. I have worked with some amazing people and I still do. I may not say it as often as I should but thank you all for everything particularly throughout such a difficult year.

We all need to say thank you to those we may take for granted. Who would you say thank you to?
