Thanks mum

There is only one topic that I could possibly blog about today and that is to recognise the effort put in to celebrate the contribution of mothers. I, of course, believe that I have the best mother in the world, which was said by many others today. We have a lot to thank our mums for as well as our dads. Our parents do so much for us and I have been truly blessed by the support I have had.

It is important for us to recognise those people who have helped and supported us throughout our lives. We spend so much time just rushing around that we can seem to take this assistance for granted. Most people would not be where they are without a number of people who have given them a step up along the way.

I have written a few times about those people who I need to thank for all they have done. I am glad that I have had the chance to thank a lot of them, and I will continue to focus on recognising this support. I have a wonderful network of people who all help in different ways giving me the opportunity to develop and progress at home, work and as an individual. There is no ‘day’ to do that, and no prompt. It is something that we have to remember to do.

There are many ways you can do it. Writing a letter is a great way of expressing how you feel, or sending a little present, or just sitting and having a conversation about what is going on in their life. It is about sharing and showing you really care.

Today we have been prompted to remember our mothers and all they have done. But I urge people not to just leave it for one day in the year to say thank you mum, or to say thank you to those who help and support you.
